Permanent Representative of China to the United Nations (UN), Zhang Jun, said that the cause and person responsible for the destruction of the Nord Stream pipeline must be investigated and the conspirators must not be allowed to act on their own.
The UN Security Council held a session yesterday, at the request of Russia, on the explosions in the Nord Stream pipeline last September.
In his speech at the session, Zhang Jun reminded that the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline is an important multinational infrastructure facility and the main channel of energy transportation, and stated that the destruction of the pipeline last September had serious negative effects on the global energy market and ecological environment.
Zhang stressed that the various parties have recently received a lot of details and information about the destruction of the pipeline, the relevant situations are shocking and that it should definitely be reacted to.
