In the 2nd largest earthquake in the history of the Republic, the balance sheet is unfortunately increasing every hour. The death toll in the earthquake that occurred in Maraş at 04.17:1014 today increased to 7,4. AFAD and Kandilli increased the magnitude of the earthquake from 7,7 to XNUMX.

The earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 and lasting one and a half minutes, the epicenter of which is Kahramanmaraş, struck 10 provinces, it was felt even from Syria. While the East Anatolian Fault Line was broken by the earthquake, it had devastating effects in Kahramanmaraş, Malatya, Şanlıurfa, Gaziantep, Adana, Kilis, Hatay, Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Gaziantep and Osmaniye. At 13.30, another 7.6 magnitude earthquake occurred in Kahramanmaraş.

Governor Yunus Sezer, President of AFAD, announced in his press statement that the loss of life in the earthquake increased to 1014. Sezer also stated that there was an increase in the number of destroyed buildings.

According to the first determinations, the loss and damage information by province is as follows:

Kahramanmaraş: 70 people lost their lives, 300 buildings were destroyed. There are 200 injured. However, it is stated that there is great damage in Maraş.
Adıyaman: 13 people missing, 100 buildings destroyed, 22 injured.
Malatya: 47 people lost their lives, 300 buildings were destroyed. There are 550 injured.
Şanlıurfa: 18 people lost their lives, 60 buildings were destroyed. There are 200 injured.
Osmaniye: 20 people lost their lives. 83 buildings were destroyed. There are 200 injured.
Diyarbakir: 14 people lost their lives. 7 buildings were destroyed. There are 79 injured.
Gaziantep: 80 people lost their lives. 581 buildings were destroyed.
Hatay: 4 people lost their lives. 200 buildings were destroyed and 7 injured.
Kilis: 8 people lost their lives. 50 buildings were destroyed.
Adana: 10 people lost their lives. 118 people are injured.
