The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure (UAB), the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD) and TCDD Taşımacılık AŞ made a statement regarding the works carried out in earthquake zones in coordination with AFAD.

The written statement from TCDD is as follows: “Damage occurred on a total of 275 kilometers of railway lines passing through the provinces in the earthquake zones. Alarmed after the earthquake, the construction teams completed their work at a distance of one thousand 60 kilometers and opened them to traffic in a short time. On the 215 kilometer railway (Islahiye - Fevzipaşa, Fevzipaşa - Nurdağı, Köprüağzı-Kahramanmaraş, Pazarcık - Malatya) works continue. 205 road maintenance personnel continue their work.

During the severe earthquake, a diesel set consisting of 16 freight wagons and 4 wagons waiting and underway at the stations and stations deviated from the road and was moderately and heavily damaged. In addition, 1 freight wagons and 307 locomotives were trapped in the closure of the line. Most of the wagons have been removed, the rescue work of the trapped locomotives and wagons continues. 9 flights were organized to the disaster area with conventional lines and YHT, and 186 thousand 34 citizens were evacuated. 889 volunteer doctors and 458 military personnel were transferred to the earthquake zone by YHT and Conventional trains.

Shortly after the earthquake, approximately 6 thousand of our citizens are hosted in nearly a hundred wagons at various stations and stations. Meals and accommodation were provided for 200 people at the Gaziray construction site in Gaziantep, for 500 persons at the Mersin-Adana-Gaziantep High Speed ​​Train Nurdağı construction site, and for 150 persons at the Toprakkale construction site. Arsuz, Urla, Adana, guesthouses and Ankara, Kayseri, Diyarbakir, Elazig, Ulukışla. 611 citizens are accommodated in Van and Samsun personnel dormitories.

With 30 freight trains sent to the disaster area, 628 living containers, 52 mobile WCs, generators, 69 wagons of food, water, clothing, heater, hygiene and humanitarian aid were transported to the disaster area. Apart from these, life container shipments that will go to the earthquake zone, especially Izmir and Istanbul, continue. The second aid train prepared by our citizens living in Romania was sent to the earthquake zone by passing through Marmaray. 2 wagon coal trains loaded from Soma were shipped to Malatya.”
