Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer, who came together with the earthquake victims by making inspections in Malatya, visited the Agricultural Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, which prepares hot meals for the earthquake victims. Özer said, “We have reached the capacity to serve 372 thousand people daily, and we are making them available to our citizens. We provide accommodation services to approximately 251 thousand citizens in the dormitories, hostels, teachers' houses and practice hotels affiliated to the Ministry of National Education.” said. He added that the MEB search and rescue team of 2.500 people is on duty in ten provinces.

Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer stated that they have mobilized all their resources in ten provinces directly affected by earthquakes and said that teachers, school administrators, provincial directors and Ministry personnel are making an effort to cure the problems of citizens in the region.

Özer noted that in this process, education was suspended in schools and the interior of the schools, gardens, practice hotels and teacher's houses were open for the accommodation of citizens.

Özer shared the following information: “We provide accommodation services to approximately 251 thousand citizens in dormitories, hostels, teachers' houses and practice hotels affiliated to the Ministry of National Education in ten provinces. At the same time, especially the food and beverage departments of our vocational high schools and the restaurants of our teachers' houses provide support to meet the food needs of our citizens and to meet their water needs. In this context, we have reached the capacity to serve 372 thousand people daily, and we are making them available to our citizens. Again, as the search and rescue unit of the Ministry of National Education, approximately 2.500 of our teachers - nearly 2.500 teachers who have been trained by the Ministry of Interior and have been trained by AFAD - are scattered across ten provinces. It helps with search and rescue efforts.”
