Konya Industrialists Want the Suburban Line to be Constructed

KSO President Mustafa Büyükegen talked about the demands on the construction of suburban lines to the industrial zones in Konya, the construction of mass housing for industrial workers, the issuance of industrial registration certificates to seed producers and EYT.

Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum and Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank attended the January assembly meeting of the Konya Chamber of Industry. Konya Chamber of Industry President Mustafa Büyükegen expressed the demands and problems of the industrialists of Konya at the meeting, while the Minister Institution and Minister Varank gave full support to the Konya industry. Ministers gave the message, “We are always with Konya industry”.

To the meeting moderated by KSO Assembly President Memiş Kütükcü; Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Minister Murat Kurum, Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank, Konya Governor Vahdettin Özkan, AK Party Deputy Chairman Leyla Şahin Usta, Parliamentary Industry, Trade, Energy, Natural Resources, Information and Technology Commission Chairman and Konya Deputy Ziya Altunyaldız, Mayor of Konya Metropolitan Municipality Uğur İbrahim Altay, Konya business world representatives and many industrialists attended.

“Konya aspires to production and development”

Speaking at the opening of the assembly meeting, Konya Chamber of Industry (KSO) President Mustafa Büyükeğin thanked Murat Kurum, Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, and Mustafa Varank, Minister of Industry and Technology, for all their support to the Konya industry.

President Büyükegen underlined that Konya has become one of the strongest industrial centers in Turkey with the production determination of the entrepreneurs. Stating that Konya is the 2022th province with the highest number of industrial capacity reports in Turkey in 3, with 957 capacity reports, Büyükegen said, “When we look at the investment incentive certificates, we see a very pleasing picture for Konya. Of the 5 investment incentive certificates worth 2022 million 14 thousand liras given to our Konya in 572, 524 percent in number and 61 percent in amount were issued to the manufacturing industry. All these show that our Konya aspires to production, employment, exports and development. Hopefully, we will carry the success story of our Konya much further together," he said.

KSO's new vision

Noting that as Konya Chamber of Industry, their new vision is to build a new generation industrial infrastructure that is sustainable, produces higher added value, is a pioneer in green transformation, Büyükeen said, “Our Konya is one of the cities most affected by climate change. As industrialists from Konya, we are aware of the responsibility that this process imposes on us. Hopefully, with the new awareness studies and projects we will do; We aim to make each and every one of our industrialists and employees, whether workers or employers, a more environmentally conscious 'Green Collar'”.

President Büyükegen expressed his demands on issues such as the construction of suburban lines to industrial zones in Konya, the construction of mass housing for industrial workers, the issuance of industrial registration certificates to seed producers and EYT.

Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank emphasized the importance of Konya for the Turkish industry and emphasized that they would give their best support to grow Konya's industry. Minister Varank, who said to the industrialists of Konya that "we are always with you", said: "Konya is an important city in terms of Turkish industry. Rest assured, we are doing everything we can to grow the industry here. We are always by your side with our incentive system, OIZs, technoparks, industrial zones. As long as Konya produces, it contributes to Turkey. As Konya grows, let Turkey also grow. This is our only aim. We are always with you. No matter what issue is communicated to us, we strive to develop a solution. Whatever possibilities we have, we offer to your service.”

Minister Institution: “We will continue to provide all kinds of support to the Konya industry”

Speaking later, the Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change Murat Kurum gave information about the work they have done in Konya as the Ministry. Stating that they will continue to provide all kinds of support to Konya and Konya's industry, as before, the Minister Kurum said, “The issue of climate change is very important. That's why we have to protect our air and our land. We will do this together with the industry. Here, like the green OIZ, we have to realize the green transformation in the industry and ensure the transition to a sustainable economy. There is an opportunity here. Together with the EU Green Consensus, we have taken the steps to be a partner in this opportunity. More than 50 percent of our exports are made to EU countries. Therefore, we have to be in harmony with it. We have to develop new technologies. I hope we will carry out this process together," he said.

After the speeches, the meeting continued with a question and answer session. Minister Varank and Minister Kurum listened to the demands of industrialists from Konya.
