Local seeds produced at the Local Seed Production Center with the slogan of Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality "A handful of seeds is a lifetime of independence" meet with the citizens at Seed Exchange Days. While citizens show great interest in the distributions in Seyitgazi and Beylikova districts, thousands of local seeds will meet with the soil.
Continuing to support producers in agriculture and animal husbandry, the Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to disseminate local seeds.
The seeds produced in Eskişehir Metropolitan Municipality Local Seed Production Center and sent to the seed exchange festivals held in various cities of Turkey, also meet the citizens of 12 districts outside the city center.
Seed Exchange Days, organized by the teams of the Metropolitan Municipality Parks and Gardens Department, started in Seyitgazi district. While the citizens showed great interest in the stand established in the Seyitgazi district market, thousands of local seeds were distributed to the citizens.
Seyitgazi Mayor Uğur Tepe, who participated in the distribution ceremony and made a speech here, said, “We distribute our seeds to our citizens with the teams of our Metropolitan Municipality and Seyitgazi Municipality. Of course, we saw how important production is during the pandemic period. It is very important to strengthen rural life by producing and to be self-sufficient. The dissemination of local seeds is especially valuable. We will continue to support local seed production in the next period as well. We are very grateful to our Metropolitan Municipality.” said. Citizens also thanked Metropolitan Mayor Yılmaz Büyükerşen for the work done for the dissemination of local seeds.
The second stop of the activities was Beylikova district. While the citizens showed great interest in the stand set up in the district marketplace, thousands of seeds were distributed to the citizens. Citizens thanked the Metropolitan Municipality and those who contributed.
As part of the Seed Exchange Days, in Mahmudiye on March 2, Sarıcakaya on March 3, Alpu on March 4, Günyüzü on March 6, Sivrihisar on March 8, Mihalgazi on March 9 Seeds will be distributed to citizens in Çifteler on March 10, in Mihalıççık on March 11, in Han on March 16, and in district marketplaces in İnönü district on March 23.
In the city center, seed exchange events will be held at Producer Markets on 14-18-21 and 25 March, and seeds will meet with citizens.
