In Hatay, one of the provinces affected by the earthquake, the airport's runway was also damaged. It was seen that the runway of Hatay Airport was split towards the width and the asphalt was lifted.

Hatay Governor Rahmi Doğan said that there were buildings destroyed in Hatay due to the earthquake. Stating that the state hospitals and police house were destroyed in Iskenderun and Antakya, Doğan said:

“There are ruined buildings in Antakya and Kırıkhan. State hospitals in Iskenderun and Antakya were destroyed. The police station was also destroyed. There are ruins in the buildings where citizens live. We have now established a headquarters in the garden of the gendarmerie, we gathered all the units here. We are trying to intervene there with the means at our disposal. There is some trouble on the airport runway, there is a problem in landing the planes. We are coordinating the activities with our existing facilities. There are those who lost their lives, and we have many injured.”
