Minister of National Education Mahmut Özer made statements at the Governor's Office crisis center in Malatya. Minister Mahmut Özer said, “As of today, we are taking a 2-week break from education in our provinces of Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adıyaman and Malatya. We will take a one-week break from education in our provinces of Diyarbakır, Gaziantep, Şanlıurfa, Adana, Osmaniye and Kilis.”

Share the information that the coordination meeting held in Malatya continues. Özer said, “Thank God, we have not received any negative news from our schools so far. There were no injuries or deaths related to our students and teachers staying in hostels.” said.

Noting that only one village school was destroyed in Şanlıurfa and Osmaniye, Özer informed that a hostel in Pozantı was also damaged.

As of now, there are no problems in all our schools.

Stating that it is very valuable to meet the urgent needs of citizens in order to carry out the process in a healthy way in addition to the rescue efforts, Özer said, “In this context, all our teacher's houses, practice hotels, indoor sports halls and schools have been opened to the service of our citizens in all ten provinces. Hot meals are delivered to our citizens, especially in our practice hotels and teachers' homes. Again, the Search and Rescue Units of the Ministry of National Education in our 81 provinces, which we organized together with our Ministry of Interior, also moved to these ten provinces. he said.

Noting that all the teams of the Ministry that will provide psychological support also rush to the aid of the citizens, Özer said, “In short, there are no problems in all our schools as of now. Hopefully, we will quickly heal our wounds, repair our less damaged schools, and resume education and training services. Again, the MEBİM emergency call center, the crisis desk communication center with the number 444 0 632, has started to serve all our citizens, for our teachers, students and their relatives in other cities who are curious about the administrative personnel in these provinces.” said.

Stating that he contacted all provincial directors and governors in the region about how education and training will continue in the second term in 10 provinces, Minister Özer said:

“In this context, as of today, we are taking a two-week break from education in our provinces of Kahramanmaraş, Hatay, Adıyaman and Malatya. Again, in the remaining provinces of Diyarbakır, Şanlıurfa, Adana, Osmaniye, Gaziantep and Kilis, we will only take a one-week break from education. According to the development situation, we will decide whether to extend it by re-evaluating in the process. In short, there is no abnormal situation regarding our schools in the Ministry of National Education at the moment. As the Ministry, our entire team is on the field to quickly prepare our schools for education again. Our state is on the field with all its means. Our friends mobilized to provide all kinds of support, both in terms of budget and people. This is a great pain; It's time for unity and togetherness... Hopefully, we will heal these wounds quickly by using all the resources of our state and government. Efforts to rescue our wounded from the rubble continue.
