THE TARGET IS TO CONTROL THE STREET ANIMAL POPULATION IN 2 YEARS

Providing information on the subject, Head of Health Affairs Department Seyfettin Aslan said, “As of June 1, 2022, we started to receive services for both capture and sterilization with a brand new application. While we could have a thousand sterilizations per month, we started to perform 2 thousand sterilizations a month with this method. We broke a record in the history of Ankara Metropolitan Municipality with 2022 sterilizations in 23. With this project, which will set an example for all municipalities, we will perform 500-2023 thousand sterilizations in 25. While we are having 30 thousand sterilizations per month, if 2 district municipalities perform an average of 25 sterilizations each month, 100 thousand sterilizations will have taken place in 2 thousand 500 years. Thus, with over 30 thousand sterilizations per year, the stray animal population in Ankara will be brought under control within 50 years.
