On February 20, 20.04, an earthquake with a magnitude of 6.4 was experienced in Defne, Hatay. Afterwards, 5,8 aftershocks, the largest of which was 90, occurred.
It was learned that 112 notifications were received from the 54 Emergency Call Center regarding the earthquake. It was understood that there was no negative situation in 44 of these notifications.
In line with the reports received, AFAD's provincial directorate teams from Hatay, Afyonkarahisar, İzmir, İstanbul, Sakarya, Erzurum, Samsun, Diyarbakır, Adana, Van, Kayseri, Denizli, Balıkesir, Artvin, Bartın and Uşak, 112 Emergency, Firefighters , JAK, PAK, CEKUT and NGOs participated in search and rescue efforts.
According to the information received from SAKOM, 18 citizens, 294 of whom were seriously ill, were treated by the health units in various hospitals in the surrounding area. Unfortunately, 6 citizens lost their lives. We wish God's mercy on our citizens who lost their lives, and a speedy recovery to the injured.
6.000 tents were sent to the area during the night for the citizens who were uneasy due to the last earthquake. Tent shipments will continue throughout the day by air and road.
