The Ministry of Culture and Tourism will give “Domestic Film Screening Support” to movie theater operators who had to close their doors for a long time during the global epidemic process.
The Ministry will support 2023 movie theaters in all provinces for 105 with 14 million 235 thousand liras in order to enable the cinema industry to continue on its way stronger.
The list of supported movie theaters has been published on the website of the Ministry General Directorate of Cinema, cinema.ktb.gov.tr.
Films Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism Leading the Box Office
While movie theaters spent the first month of the year busy, the total number of spectators increased by 2022 percent in the first 4 weeks compared to the same period of 10. The most watched movie of 2023 so far was the Ministry-supported "Rafadan Crew: Galactic Crew" with an audience exceeding 2 million, followed by "Avatar: Water's Path" and "Holy Carboy" 4 movies.
In 2023, 1 Million Students Will Meet With Cinema
The project "Let There Be No Children Who Do Not Go To The Cinema", implemented by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, continues in 2023 as well. With the project, the cinema culture is disseminated by showing free movies to secondary school students in 81 cities in the movie theaters in their provinces, while financial support is also provided to movie theaters with the use of the first sessions with low occupancy rate.
