Yapı Merkezi undertook the Romanian 11 Lot Railway Superstructure Modernization Project. There are 11 lots within the scope of the project in Romania, which is of regional importance. The total cost of 24 Lots with a project duration of 11 months per lot is 44,6 M €. The signing ceremony of the project took place on January 17, 2023 with the participation of Yapı Merkezi Holding CEO Aslan Uzun, Bid Deputy General Manager Mustafa Erkan Saatçı, Bid Director Erkut Karagöz, Proposal Documentation Chief Arkın Atacan and OHS Chief Tevfik Demircioğlu.

With a route length of approximately 24 km and a single track length of 11 lines-km within the scope of 46,5 Lots, the duration of the project is 24 months and the warranty period is 60 months for each lot. Within the scope of the project, there are reconstruction and maintenance works of the superstructure of the line so that the line can run at the desired speed. The tender for the project was made by “CFR” SA Bucharest District Branch on 27 October 2022.

In project scope; line superstructure modernization, replacement of the elements that make up the line superstructure and the creation of a tethered line, as a result of which the line was brought to the traffic speed parameters of 120 km/h for passenger trains and 100 km/h for freight trains, assembly of fasteners of railway and level crossings and connections with highways. cleaning of stormwater drainage systems, line equipment areas or existing level crossings along the line, and other maintenance work.

In his speech at the signing ceremony, Yapı Merkezi Holding CEO Aslan Uzun stated that Romania is important for them because of its location in Europe and said: “We are happy to have added a new one to the many successful projects we have realized so far. As Yapı Merkezi, which breaks ground in transportation, infrastructure and general contracting, we are happy to contribute to the strengthening of our economy by providing a significant foreign currency inflow to our country with various projects.”
