He completed the restoration of the Dagkapi 1 and 2 bastions in the works carried out by the Diyarbakir Metropolitan Municipality with the motto "Resurrection in the Walls". The restoration works initiated by the Metropolitan Municipality in order to carry the Diyarbakır Walls, which are on the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage List, to future generations, continue.

The Department of Reconstruction and Urbanization has completed the work on the 1 and 2 bastions of Dağkapı, located in Dağkapı Square, which is the center of the city, which is frequented by local and foreign tourists.

Within the scope of the restoration works, the teams that cleaned the plants on the outer facades of the bushings 1 and 2, after the sandblasting of the inner quarters of the bush, performed the grouting and filling in accordance with the original.

Electrical installation cables were laid by assembling wooden windows, sheet metal coverings and doors on the bastions. Interior, exterior and terrace floors were illuminated.

Special care for Marwani Masjid

After dismantling the suspended ceilings of the Marwani Masjid and scraping the plastered barrel vaults, the teams filled the hydraulic lime-based mortar on the upper part of the mosque and installed steel and trapezoidal sheet metal.

Within the scope of the works, steel wicker was laid in order to strengthen the top of the mosque, and joint openings were made in the inner parts.

The teams that filled the wall and floor joints of the masjid repaired and installed the old windows, laid wooden paneling in the masjid and laid felt and parquet mattresses and carpets.

The teams completed their work by lighting the interior of the mosque.

Bastion No. 5, whose restoration has been completed, has been allocated to the tourism police.

In bastion 5 (One Body), where the restoration works were completed, bushing ceiling scrapers, old door and wooden window removals, terrace grating ceiling plasters, 1st floor, iwan and stair vault plasters were made.

The Metropolitan Municipality allocated the 5th bastion to the tourism police in order to contribute to the city tourism.

The Tourism Police team, which serves to protect and promote the historical values ​​of Diyarbakır, both ensures the safety of incoming domestic and foreign tourists and provides guidance services.
