Significant progress has been made in facilitating border crossings and line matching negotiations between Turkey and Bulgaria. Cooperation in the railway field will also contribute to the social and economic ties between the two countries.

The delegation headed by Hasan Pezük, General Manager of the Republic of Turkey State Railways (TCDD), met with Bulgarian Railways Infrastructure General Manager Zlatin Krumov at Kapikule Station in Edirne. the situation was evaluated. It is planned to increase the number of trains operated daily to 12. A consensus was reached in the organization of the first meeting of the Working Group on Providing the Interface of Train Information Systems.

TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük said that they had a productive meeting with the Bulgarian delegation headed by Bulgarian Railways Infrastructure General Manager Zlatin Krumov that will contribute to the relations between the two countries. In the meeting, Hasan Pezük stated that they evaluated the progress status of the decisions taken as a result of previous contacts and the current follow-up of the field studies; “During our technical visit to Kapikule Station, we examined the measures taken to accelerate the exchange processes on site. We continue to work with our Bulgarian counterparts in order to further strengthen the social and economic ties of the two countries with anchorages.”

TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük said that thanks to the arrangements made in the annexes of the Agreement on the Regulation of Svilengrad-Kapıkule Railway Border Crossing Activities and the Railway Border Services at the Kapıkule Border Exchange Station between Turkey and Bulgaria, TCDD General Manager Hasan Pezük said: We have increased this number to 11 trains. Now we are planning to increase it to 12 first and then to more numbers.”
