The first flight of the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) will be made with the Development Test Aircraft prototype whose photos are shared.

TAI General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil hosted members of the press and researchers at TAI facilities. Making statements at the meeting, which Defense Turk also attended, Kotil explained that the F-110 engines of the National Combat Aircraft (MMU) were installed by the expert technicians of TAI in a short period of 2 hours. Kotil also stated that the first flight of the MMU will be carried out with the Development Test Aircraft prototype, whose photos were shared.

The tests of the fuel systems to be used in the National Combat Aircraft were also successfully completed. The tests of the hydraulic fuel to be used in the aircraft have also started. The fuel and hydraulic line from the internal systems in the MMU were integrated into the aircraft. According to the agreement signed between the Turkish Air Force and TAI, TAI is expected to start MMU deliveries in 2029.

Temel Kotil, who answered the questions of the students at the Ask the CEO event organized by TAI recently, announced that the engine of the National Combat Aircraft was installed on the evening of 25 December:

“Our technician friends installed the engine of the MMU last night. The friends who installed the engine installed 16-300 engines on the F-400, this is not an easy task. he said. In a statement to the press yesterday, Temel Kotil said, "MMU's F-110 engines were installed by TAI's expert technicians in a short time like 2 hours."

Temel Kotil stated that he was ready for the National Combat Aircraft to leave the hangar on March 18, 2023:

“We have a promise to get him out of the hangar on March 18. Of course, we do not need to wait for March 18. We learned a lot. We've recovered. Whenever our elders want to hold a ceremony, we are about to finish our preparations. A job that seems very difficult at the beginning gets easier as it progresses. We learned this.

MMU started with 60 people. Currently, TUSAŞ has more than 1300 engineers. If we include our other companies, 2000 people serve. We had a very difficult time in the design, but the production progressed very quickly. This was the result of TAI working for Airbus and Boeing in the past years.”

The National Combat Aircraft (MMU) received its landing gear

The landing gear of the National Combat Aircraft was delivered to TAI. In this context, the landing gear to be used in the National Combat Aircraft is produced locally and nationally by TAAC, a subsidiary of TAI and ALTINAY. Announcing the development, TAI General Manager Temel Kotil announced that the MMU will be on the landing gear as of December 20, 2022.
