• 1965 – In Karakurt village of Kırkağaç district of Manisa, a group of people rose up and attacked school teachers. Kırkağaç Deputy District Governor, who went to the scene, was seriously injured by the villagers with stones and wood. 23 people were arrested.
• 1970 - Muammar Gaddafi becomes Prime Minister of Libya.
• 1979 – Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi left Iran with his family and settled in Egypt.
• 1979 – The Process Leading to the September 12, 1980 Coup in Turkey (1979- September 12, 1980): Revolutionary Democratic Culture Associations, “Removal of non-Kurdish civil servants from the region in the East”  A primary school teacher in Mardin Kızıltepe was beaten by a group of militants, and he was warned to leave the city because his decision was not fulfilled by the state.

• 2003 - Columbia The signature shuttle has departed Cape Canaveral (United States). (The shuttle disintegrated on its return to Earth on February 1, and the 7-man flight crew lost their lives).
• 2005 - Adriana Iliescu became the oldest mother in the world, giving birth at the age of 66.
• 2006 – Mehmet Ali A¤ca went to GATA Haydarpasa Training Hospital with his lawyer Mustafa Demirba¤ to have his military service done. Demirbağ, the result of the inspection, is delivered to Ağca. unfit for military service reported that the report was given.
