The Ministry of Commerce stated that measures will be taken to prevent price increases in cement and clinker and to relieve domestic supply.

The following statements were made in the written statement made by the Ministry: “The developments in the construction sector, which has an important weight in our economy and which directly and indirectly concerns many sectors and the welfare of our citizens, are closely followed by our Ministry and also monitored in terms of foreign trade.

These products were added to the 'List of Goods for Exports' on September 4, 2021, in order to closely monitor the exports of cement and clinker, which are used extensively in the construction industry, primarily to meet the domestic demand, and to ensure that the necessary measures can be taken in a timely manner.

Due to the intense notifications to our Ministry that there has been a problem in the domestic supply of the said products in the last period, and the increases observed by our Ministry in the domestic sales prices of the products mentioned, especially in the last 1-2 months, the necessary measures will be taken by our Ministry to prevent price increases and to relieve the domestic supply of these products without delay. . If the positive effects expected by our Ministry on the market, which these measures will create on the market, are not at the desired level, it is beneficial to inform the relevant parties that additional measures will not be avoided in addition to the measures taken.
