The Ministry of Youth and Sports organized a special train trip between Ankara and Sarıkamış as part of the "Sarıkamış Martyrs' Commemoration Events" in memory of the Sarıkamış operation.

Olympic champion national archer Mete Gazoz, who took part in the journey with the Sarıkamış Express, said, “I never went like this. I will go for the first time. I will take lots of photos. I have high expectations for the trip. At the moment, we will travel together with 12 athletes,” he said.

İbrahim Çolak, another national athlete who took part in the journey, said, “This journey will be the first time for me as well. I'm so excited. I had seen it before and wanted to participate. We will make a cultural journey together with our youth, athletes, artist friends and cultural people. We will conclude our journey in Yozgat, Kayseri, Sivas, Erzincan, Erzurum and Sarıkamış.
