Along with Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Chief of General Staff General Yaşar Güler, Land Forces Commander General Musa Avsever, Naval Forces Commander Admiral Ercüment Tatlıoğlu and Air Force Commander General Atilla Gülan conducted inspections and inspections at the Naval Command.

Akar, who also went to the Submarine Fleet Command, which operates with the motto "quietly and deeply" during its inspections and inspections, made inspections on PİRİREİS, one of the "Reis" class submarines under construction within the scope of the New Type Submarine Project.

Minister Akar, who was greeted with a sailor's whistle called “silistra” in accordance with maritime traditions, when he arrived on the upper deck of PİRİREİS, which started sea acceptance tests as of January 3, went down to the submarine after greeting the personnel. Minister Akar, who received information about the ongoing sea acceptance tests and activities from the Submarine Commander, met with the submarine personnel.

Wishing the new submarine to be beneficial, Minister Akar said, “In the coming period, important and comprehensive tasks are waiting for you. It is out of the question for us to take a step back in protecting and protecting our rights and interests in the Aegean, the Eastern Mediterranean, and Cyprus. We have not violated our rights, we will not violate them!” he said.

“REIS” CLASS SUBMARINES

The "Reis" class submarines, which are under construction within the scope of the New Type Submarine Project, draw attention with their battery technology, high durability and compact design. It is planned to integrate Akya new generation heavy class torpedoes and Atmaca anti-ship missiles into these submarines, which have low ship noise level, modern sensors, weapons and war management systems.
