Lara Göçgeldi, who set her heart on skiing at a young age in Denizli, has received great appreciation for her story leading to success. The story of Denizli Metropolitan Belediyespor Ski Team Athlete Lara Göçgeldi's qualifying to compete in the Alpine Ski League began when she was only 8 years old. Denizli Metropolitan Municipality put Denizli Ski Center, the largest in the Aegean, into service in 2015. The giant facility, which is the second white paradise of Denizli after Pamukkale, became the new favorite of skiing in a short time, and the interest in winter sports in the city increased day by day. Anticipating that Denizli will win champions in winter sports, Denizli Metropolitan Municipality started to organize ski courses in Denizli Ski Center as part of free Winter Sports Schools. The ski courses organized by Denizli Metropolitan Municipality were followed with great interest, especially by children and young people.

He met skiing at the age of 8

One of the names that attended the courses of Denizli Metropolitan Municipality was Lara Göçgeldi. The young athlete, who met skiing at the age of 8, started to look forward to the winter season every year. While skiing has become the passion of Denizli children and youth with Denizli Ski Center, the Metropolitan Municipality established the Metropolitan Belediyespor Ski Team in 2018. Continuing to ski successfully, Lara Göçgeldi became one of the first athletes of the team. Lara Göçgeldi, who has been working for many years to enter the Alpine Ski League, realized her dream last week. The young athlete passed the Alpine Skiing Qualification Competition in Erzurum / Palandöken on 13-14 January and qualified to compete in the Alpine Ski League.

Continuing her training at Denizli Ski Center, Lara Göçgeldi said that she has been interested in skiing for 6 years. Noting that he enjoyed skiing at Denizli Ski Center, Göçgeldi said, “I started skiing here, I have been skiing for a long time. Now I will compete in the Alpine Ski League, I am happy. The atmosphere here is very good. I would like to thank our Metropolitan Mayor, Mr. Osman Zolan, for giving us this opportunity.” Stating that he achieved his dream with Denizli Ski Center, the young athlete Göçgeldi pointed out that he was very happy about this and said that he would do his best to achieve successful results.
