11 kilograms of cannabis was seized in the operation carried out at the Kapıkule Customs Gate by the Customs Enforcement teams of the Ministry of Commerce.

According to the statement made by the Ministry, a vehicle was closely followed while the teams of the Edirne Customs Enforcement Smuggling and Intelligence Directorate were checking the suspicious trucks within the scope of the fight against smuggling.

After the truck, which departed from Poland and was to enter Turkey via Bulgaria, was x-rayed, it was determined that there were suspicious intensities in the scan images.

After it was seen that the suspicious density was pointing to the driver's cabin, the extensive search carried out by the teams was accompanied by narcotic detector dogs.

Upon the reaction of the narcotic detector dogs entering the driver's cabin, each point of the cabin was examined one by one by the teams.

As a result of the detailed search, 11 kilograms of cannabis, hidden in packages in various parts of the driver's cabin, was seized.

The drugs, which were stored in packages in many places in the driver's cabin, were confiscated by the Customs Enforcement teams.

The investigation into the incident continues before the Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
