With the support of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality and the Turkey Library for the Visually Impaired (TÜRGÖK), with the cooperation of the Barrier-Free Izmir, Umuda Pedal Association and the Co-Pedal Association, approximately 350 bicycles came together with the slogan "We Pedal Hope So That the Blind Read More Relief Books".

The organization, which aims to raise awareness so that more relief books can be printed for the visually impaired, started in Bostanlı Yasemin Cafe and ended in İnciraltı Urban Forest Disabled Education Center.

Hakan Orhunbilge, Head of Izmir Metropolitan Municipality Youth and Sports Services Department, stated that a meaningful event was held and said, “As Izmir Metropolitan Municipality, we are extremely happy to be involved in such a project. We would like to thank the Turkish Library for the Visually Impaired (TÜRGÖK), Barrier-Free İzmir, Umuda Pedal Association and Co-Pedal Association for their contribution. Since our President Tunç took office, we have been constantly supporting our disabled people. We will meet again before Maraonİzmir, which will be held on March 12. We will always continue to be by their side," he said.

Tülay Yazgan, President of TÜRGÖK, emphasized that the support of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality is very important and said, “My wife Gültekin Yazgan became blind at the age of 11 as a result of retinal rupture. He himself clung to life by accepting blindness. He had an idea about the relief writing in a magazine he was reading in the library. By contacting a library in England, he exchanged relief books for the visually impaired and put these books into production. He passed away, but his idea still lives on. We would like to thank them very much for the support of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality in order to promote this project.”
