The Work, Retirement and EYT Working Group of the Izmir City Council visited the Pako Stray Animals Social Life Campus of the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality. Working group members planted olive trees in Pako.
The Emek, Retirement and EYT Working Group operating within the Izmir City Council organized a forestation event. Members who visited PAKO Stray Animals Social Life Campus planted olive saplings in the garden of the campus. Speaking at the event, İzmir City Council President Nilay Kökkılınç said, “We hope that the olive saplings we will plant with our strength from solidarity and common mind will bring abundance to our lands and nature, and that the voices of our retirees will be heard.”
Stating that retirees are unhappy in their economic conditions, Kökkılınc said, “Retirements do not allow anyone to live without being dependent on them. It is necessary to improve the living standards of retirees, improve their civilized living conditions, especially health services, livelihood and shelter, and their voices should be heard by all country and city administrations.
DİSK Retired-Sen Aegean Region Representative Sabahattin Yeşiltepe also attended the tree planting event. İzmir City Council Executive Committee members Nüsret Doğan Albayrak and Firdes Kutluk made a speech.
