İzmir Chamber of Dentists (İZDO) Chairman of the Board of Sea Age stated that as a chamber, they continue to work for the development of the sector and the protection of personal rights.

In his age, with the contributions of the Turkish Dentists Association (TDB) and İZDO, he expressed the demands that were conveyed to the dentist deputies in the parliament and that they wanted to be included in the Bag Law.

Stating that the work done by the dentist working in public and private health institutions and dentists working in the practice is the same, the risk taken and the wear and tear due to this is the same, İZDO President Deniz Cagda said: not benefiting is seen as contrary to the principle of equality. For this reason, we want dentists to apply an actual service time increase. Another issue is that we want dentists who are retired from SSK and Bağ Kur and dentists who are retired but working in the pension fund to benefit from the additional payment. Alongside the dentist, we want his colleague to be insured in the practice. Employment of dentists in practice will not only register informal work, but will also support the increase in employment. Finally, we demand that dentists who have completed their 15 years in the profession be given green passports, thus supporting the international circulation and facilitating the sharing of knowledge and experience.”

WE ARE FOLLOWERS OF PROBLEMS

Noting that they are carrying out solution-oriented studies by following the problems experienced, Cagın gave the following information: “As of today, the number of dentistry faculties in our country has reached 104. With the participation of 8 thousand young colleagues every year, the problems increase and our graduates are faced with the anxiety of the future. This figure is expected to double in the next 5 years. This situation causes employment deficit on behalf of our sector. On the other hand, increasing inflation and consequently rising operating costs create problems for our colleagues. Electricity, water, rent, personnel expenses and consumables that we regularly pay for have increased operating costs by up to 300 percent in the last year. Necessary steps should be taken in this regard and economic stability should be established. As İZDO, we care about the employment of our new graduates and we develop projects for this. We contribute to the education of our colleagues with the seminars held every Thursday and the congresses we hold twice a year. We will continue to stand by our colleagues in the face of current problems.”
