Individual Young Entrepreneur Sports Awards Find Their Owners

The Individual Young Entrepreneur (BIGG) Sports Awards will find their owners at the ceremony to be held on January 24. Youth and Sports Minister Mehmet Muharrem Kasapoğlu and Industry and Technology Minister Mustafa Varank will give their awards to businesses that develop products in different categories.

The BIGG Sports Awards Competition was held within the scope of the "Cooperation Protocol on Scientific Research, Entrepreneurship and Raising Scientific Awareness in Young People" signed between the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Ministry of Industry and Technology.

The TÜBİTAK-supported competition aims to develop innovative approaches in all sports-related fields, to support technological entrepreneurship, and to raise awareness in the field of sports technologies.

"Augmented and virtual reality applications in sports technologies", "Artificial intelligence applications in sports", "Wearable technologies in sports", "Individual and team tracking-analysis systems", "Training, rehabilitation and health technologies in sports", "Indigenization of imported sports equipment". ” and “Artificial limb/prosthetic technologies in sports” categories, a total of 84 technological startups applied.

The winners of the competition will be announced at a ceremony to be held on Tuesday, January 24. In addition to Ministers Kasapoğlu and Varank, academicians, important names of the sports world, entrepreneurs and high-level representatives of sports brands will attend the ceremony at AKM.

In the night where technology and sports will meet, the top 5 winners will be the winners of the BIGG Sports Cup with a total award of 1 million TL. An honorable mention will be presented to the contestants in the 6-10th place, and a certificate of appreciation to the contestants in the 11-20th place.

Before the award ceremony, which will be held with the contributions of TÜBİTAK, Bilişim Vadisi, Teknopark Istanbul and Artaş Group, the products participating in the competition will be exhibited in the Foyer Area of ​​the AKM Theater Stage. Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience the products here.

During the day, a three-legged panel will be held at the AKM Yeşilçam Cinema with the participation of experts in their fields. In the sessions titled “Accessible Technologies, Peak Sports Performance”, “The Other Side of the Coin: Sports Technology as a Financial Investment Area” and “Keeping Up with Digital Transformation in Sports”, the relationship between sports and technology will be discussed from different perspectives.
