İBB introduced Golden Horn Art. 3 historical buildings of Ottoman heritage, which were abandoned for years on the shores of the Golden Horn and left to their fate, were restored by IMM Heritage teams. The Fener Houses, which were brought to the city as exhibition galleries and culture and art activity areas, turned into a cultural route that starts from Cibalikapı and continues along the coastline. Mahir Polat, Deputy Secretary General of IMM, told the members of the press about the Art of the Golden Horn.

With the investigations of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM), unknown structures have emerged in the city. Fener Houses have historical importance and are unique. These areas in the multi-identity district of Istanbul are known as the storage areas of the Fener lords in history. After the restoration works carried out by İBB Heritage by considering universal conservation principles and techniques, Fener Houses were brought to the city as living spaces and exhibition galleries. Haliç Sanat has turned into a cultural route that will continue along the coastline starting from Cibalikapı and extending to the Sveti Stefan Church.

HALIC ART OPENED ITS DOORS

Mahir Polat, Deputy Secretary General of IMM, describing Haliç Sanat, these structures were used by the most distinguished commercial groups of Istanbul's most glorious times. Visitors will be able to see traces of it. Restoration for us means not only the renewal of buildings, but also setting the bar on how historical traces should be understood22£>1. In addition, Polat added that they have completed the restoration of three buildings and that they will continue the restorations within the scope of the project, and we acted with a restoration principle that respects historical traces and preserves the texture. These structures we see have interiors in styles unknown in Istanbul's urban architecture. In this respect, we are proud to have saved these structures with the understanding of the garden and restoration,” he said.
