Kayseri Metropolitan Municipality, within the scope of smart transportation studies, made a 'Green Wave Application' at 10 intersections in 66 arteries that will relieve traffic throughout the city. The Metropolitan Municipality carries out many works to make transportation more comfortable and easier in Kayseri.
The Department of Traffic Services, affiliated to the Department of Transportation Planning and Rail System, implements important projects within the scope of smart transportation studies.
Green wave application was made at 10 junctions in 66 arteries. With the green wave application, it is aimed for vehicles moving from an intersection to continue their journey without stopping by turning on the green signals at the time determined according to the speed limits of the road before coming to the intersections in front of them.
Green wave application was carried out at 66 intersections on Erkilet Boulevard, Mustafa Kemal Paşa Boulevard, Bekir Yıldız Boulevard, Kocasinan Boulevard, Nuh Naci Yazgan Boulevard, Battalgazi Boulevard, Talas Boulevard, Seher Boulevard, Osman Kavuncu Boulevard and the Ring Road.
On the roads where the Green Wave Application was made, vehicles did not encounter red lights at 66 separate intersections on the route, while the traffic density was eliminated.
On the other hand, while the Traffic Control Center, where Intelligent Traffic Management will be implemented, serves, 94 intersections have been made smart so far, and 80 percent of the existing traffic has come to a position to be managed.
