Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Unye Port, which was enlarged by increasing the number and depth of berths and making them suitable for the entrance of high-tonnage ships, hosted approximately 1,5 thousand passengers with 3 cruise voyages organized in 2 months with the initiatives of Mehmet Hilmi Güler.
Unye Port, which has hosted 19 cruise ships since 2022 December 3, has become Ordu's gateway to the world. Aiming to start ferry services in Ünye, Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler said that the tourists coming from April will stay in Ordu for 2 days and will see the beauties of the city. President Güler also gave the good news that similar works carried out in Ünye Port will be implemented in Altınordu as well.
APPROXIMATELY 2 TOURISTS CAME
Cruise tourism, which was the first in Ordu, had a great impact in the region, especially in Ordu. Unye Port, which has hosted approximately 19 thousand tourists with 2022 cruise ships since 3 December 2, has become Ordu's gateway to the world.
Tourists, who also visited the historical and natural places of Ordu, had the opportunity to see many points such as Yason, Hoynat and Boztepe.
INCOMING TOURISTS WILL NOW STAY 2 DAYS
Ordu Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Mehmet Hilmi Güler also said that the cruise ships that will come from April will stay in the city for 2 days.
President Güler said, “Tourists arriving with new flights that will start in April will stay overnight. There are even 2 days stay programs. Thus, they will see our culture, tourism and hospitality not only for the day but also by staying overnight. So we are opening a new page. It will be the beginning of a good period,” he said.
SIMILAR WORK TO BE DONE IN ALTINORDU
With the initiatives of President Güler, similar studies will be carried out in Altınordu. Accordingly, the existing pier length, which is 90 meters, will be extended by 140 meters to 230 meters. The water depth, which is 7,5 meters at the farthest point of the pier, will also be increased to 10 meters. Cruise ships will not pass without stopping by Altınordu pier with the pier where various units such as Customs will be located.
