Balat Sports Facility, which is allocated by Istanbul Başakşehir Football Club, will be put into the service of amateur clubs again. The facility, which has been used by IMM, will now host the matches of amateur sports clubs in Fatih and nearby districts. Football fields and administrative areas will be completely renewed and brought to FIFA standards.
A new stadium and fields allocated to sports clubs by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) were added with Balat Sports Facility. The operating rights of the facility, which was previously used by the infrastructure teams of Istanbul Başakşehir Football Club, passed to İBB with the expiration of the lease agreement with the club. IMM will put the facility, which has two fields and administrative areas, into the service of amateur sports clubs in the Fatih region.
RENOVATION STARTED
Two end-of-life fields at Balat Sports Facility were included in a comprehensive maintenance and repair program. In the works carried out by the Facilities Maintenance and Repair Directorate under the coordination of the Youth and Sports Directorate, changing rooms and referee rooms will be built. A modern lighting system will be installed.
One of the most remarkable works will be the addition of a new tribune to the field, which did not exist before. There will be material warehouses of sports clubs in the lower sections of the tribune, which is planned to be built with a capacity of at least 250 - 300 people.
IN FIFA STANDARD
The renewed sections in the 40-70 meter field and administrative areas of the IMM Balat Sports Facility will be ready in March. Within the scope of the study, there will be locker rooms for the host and guest teams in the administrative building. In addition to referee and health rooms, meeting rooms, facility management offices will be located in the facility. When all the works are completed, the field floor will reach FIFA standards with the synthetic turf that has the FIFA certificate.
Work on the other 68-105-meter football field will begin in the summer of 2023. The metal material surrounding the field will be replaced. An irrigation system will be built on the site where the ground and all the infrastructure will be renewed. The existing lighting system will be renewed so that league competitions can be played.
