In the statement made by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality EGO General Directorate, a change was requested for the citizens in the CNG (compressed natural gas) price tariff.
EGO Headquarters provides service with 1863 buses, 84 percent of which is CNG (compressed natural gas). The sales tariff of CNG, which is used by EGO, which provides transportation services to the public at affordable prices, is determined as the industry tariff, and a fee is paid 4 times more than the housing tariff.
While the price of 1 cubic meter of CNG (compressed natural gas) was 2019 TL in April 1,67, it has increased to 20.77 TL today. The cost has increased by more than 1000 percent.
The total expense of the EGO General Directorate in November 2022 is 382 million TL. Total ticket revenue is 120 million TL. The monthly loss is 262 million TL. After the last price increase, it is expected that the revenues will increase by approximately 50 million TL. In other words, the price increase covers one-fifth of the loss.

The current fuel costs of these buses, which were preferred due to their affordable fuel cost and environmental friendliness, exceeded the affordable level. We demand the implementation of the housing tariff at CNG prices for the transportation of our people at affordable prices. The situation has been presented to the President, the relevant Ministries and BOTAŞ on the subject. If the arrangement is not made, it will be necessary to increase the ticket prices again.
