The Minister of Family and Social Services Derya Yanık announced the start of the support program to cover the transportation expenses to be provided to primary, secondary and higher education students in social assistance beneficiary households. Where and how to apply for student transportation support? How much is the student transportation support, how much is it?

Minister Yanık announced that with the said support program, they will support the intercity transportation expenses of primary, secondary and higher education students studying in a different province than their family.

Minister Yanık stated that the support program to meet the transportation expenses for primary, secondary and higher education students in the social assistance beneficiary households will be implemented for the first time.

300 million TL budget

Stating that they will contribute to the education processes of the students in the social assistance beneficiary households with the support program, Minister Yanık said, “Our support program to meet the transportation expenses for approximately 400 thousand primary, secondary and higher education students in the social assistance beneficiary households is starting. We have allocated a budget of approximately 300 million TL for this. The upper limit of the support we will give to our students for the year 2023 is 750 TL. With this support program, round-trip transportation expenses of our students will be covered twice a year. With the said program, we will support the intercity transportation expenses of our primary, secondary and higher education students studying in a different province than their families.”

Applications can be made to SYDVs

Minister Yanık said that the applications to be made to the program in question should be made by the student or the student's family to the relevant Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation located at the residence address of the students' families.

Stating that our citizens, beneficiaries of social assistance, are with them whenever they need support without discrimination, Minister Yanık said:

“We continue to take all measures so that our students, who are the guarantee of our future, can continue their education more comfortably. Our students are our future. With this program, we will continue to support and contribute to our students and their families.”
