The One Sapling One World campaign, initiated by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality with the vision of İzmir that is resistant to climate crisis and drought, is starting again this year with the time to plant the trees. With the saplings purchased from the “birfidanbirdunya.org” site, thousands of trees will meet the soil at many different points in İzmir.

The One Sapling One World campaign, initiated by the Izmir Metropolitan Municipality with the aim of creating an Izmir that is resistant to the climate crisis and drought, is starting again this year with the time to plant the trees. Within the scope of the project, as in previous years, thousands of trees will meet with the soil in many different points of İzmir with the saplings taken from the birfidanbirdunya.org website this year.

15 thousand saplings will meet the soil

With the One Sapling One World campaign carried out by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality company İzDoğa, at least 2023 thousand saplings will be planted in 11 different locations from January to March in 15. 11 areas to be afforested Bayraklı, Bornova, Buca, Cigli, Karşıyaka and Menderes in six districts.

Plants suitable for Izmir's climate are selected

The plants used in the afforestation works carried out within the scope of the One Sapling One World campaign are selected with great care. Species that are specific to the climate and nature of İzmir and that do not require intensive care are preferred in the studies.

Persons or institutions that want to donate can go to birfidanbirdunya.org and buy Anatolian acorn oak, laurel, pine tree, wild strawberry, wild pear, oleander, insane olive, sandalwood, gum, carob, blueberry or a sapling lap that allows the planted saplings to grow without being damaged by external factors.
