Academician Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu introduced the '1 From 81 Loop' project, which she started with the IMM Istanbul Foundation to deliver winter clothing to children in need all over the country. Enstitü Istanbul İSMEK trainees, İBB Darülaceze residents, Neighborhood Houses volunteers and Istanbul residents who want to support Dr. İmamoğlu threw her loops to make scarves for children. Noting that with the support of the volunteers, the knits will turn into scarves, berets and winter clothes, Dr. İmamoğlu said, “With the project, we will deliver winter clothes to at least 4 children. We will help them warm up with love this winter.”
Realizing the 'Grow Your Dreams' project under the roof of the IMM Istanbul Foundation for girls to have equal opportunities and opportunities, Dr. Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu started a new solidarity movement with the slogan 'There is Love in Every Loop'. With the program held at Çengelköy Life Center, the '1 Threads from 81 Loop' project was introduced to meet the winter clothing needs of children in need. THE JOY IN THE EYES OF THE CHILDREN INSPIRED
Stating that the idea for the project emerged during his visit to his hometown of Trabzon in November 2022, which included school trips, Dr. Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu said, “We brought gifts to children on our trips. Among our gifts was our book 'Inspirational Steps'. We thought it would be great if we added scarves and berets to the gifts we took after we returned to Istanbul. The joy and joy in the eyes of the children after receiving the gifts inspired us. Based on the students in those schools, we wanted to deliver these to children from every region of Turkey.”
WINTER CLOTHES FOR 4 THOUSAND CHILDREN
Noting that they realized the project with the support of IMM Istanbul Foundation, Enstitü Istanbul İSMEK, IBB Hospice and Enlarge Your Dreams scholars, Dr. İmamoğlu shared the following information:
“Scarves, berets and winter clothes knitted until January 25 will be gathered at the Institute Istanbul İSMEK and Neighborhood Houses. Volunteers who want to give support from outside can also help. Those who wish can bring the scarf and beanie they have knitted. Those who do not have time for knitting will be able to help with yarn and needles. With the project, we will deliver winter clothes to at least 4 children. We will help them warm up with love this winter. I believe that we will raise this number even higher with the contribution of our supporters. There are such good supports for the project; I think we will do the second round as well.”
WITH 1 FROM 81 STITCH
Winter clothes knitted with the '1 From 81 Loop' project will be delivered to disadvantaged children in Turkey's 81 provinces. Knitting will be delivered to 70 Institute Istanbul İSMEK Center and Neighborhood Houses. The first scarves, berets and winter clothes knitted with the efforts of the volunteers will be delivered to the provinces in 1 regions of the country, starting from 7 February. With the project, it is aimed to provide winter clothes to 4 thousand children in February.
