Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu stated that in 2022, the number of cruise passengers exceeded 22 million with an increase of 1 times. Karaismailoğlu announced the cruise ship statistics of 2022. Emphasizing that it has been a busy time in cruise tourism, Karaismailoğlu noted that there have been serious increases in both the number of incoming ships and the number of tourists.

Reminding that 2021 passengers came to Turkey with 78 cruise ships in 45, Karaismailoğlu stated that the number of cruise ships increased by more than 362 times to 2022 in 12. Transport Minister Karaismailoğlu announced that the number of cruise passengers increased 991 times in the same period, exceeding 22 million 1 thousand.

THIS YEAR'S HIGHEST NUMBERS REACHED WITH 206 PASSENGERS IN OCTOBER

Pointing out that more cruise ships docked at Turkish ports in October of this year than the total of last year, Karaismailoğlu noted that 155 passengers were hosted with 206 cruise ships in October, and that the highest number of passengers of this year was reached in October.

GALATAPORT, ISTANBUL'S NEW FAVORITE

Expressing that Kuşadası is the port that hosts the most cruise ships with 2022 ships and 464 thousand 493 passengers in 834, Karaismailoğlu announced that 143 ships docked at Galataport, which was chosen as the port of the year, and 220 thousand 82 cruise passengers were hosted this year. Stating that Bodrum Port ranks third with 98 ships and 95 thousand 462 cruise passengers, Karaismailoğlu stated that Sinop, Amasra and Trabzon also draw attention to cruise tourism. Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Karaismailoğlu said, “For the first time this year, the ports of Amasra and Ünye started to host cruise ships. In 2022, a total of 14 thousand 7 passengers came to Sinop with 906 cruise ships. While 8 ships docked at Amasra Port, we hosted 4 passengers. 905 thousand 8 cruise tourists came to Trabzon with 4 ships. We will continue to invest in the development of cruise tourism. We are making the investment it deserves in every corner of our heavenly homeland. We are proud of the results of our investments as well.”
