Those imperialist powers thought that this story would end there, with the Ottoman Empire falling apart. But the heroic Turkish nation established a new state behind its great leader. At the establishment stage of this state, it was decided what should be done to protect the present borders of the country and the borders by laying the foundations of the National Pact in Erzurum. Likewise, on February 17, 1923, the economic policies to be implemented in order to make the republic to be established as a fully independent state were decided in İzmir. Two cities, one in Erzurum in the East and one in Izmir in the West, hosted the determination of the future of this country.”

Stating that Erzurum and Izmir are deeply connected to each other, Mayor Soyer said, “We will firmly protect those ties. No matter how much they try to divide, divide and polarize us, we will continue to cling to each other. No one living on these lands deserves this unemployment, high inflation, poverty and misery. In this geography, which has hosted the most rooted civilizations of the world, in the most fertile lands of the world, there is everything for these people to live in prosperity and with a smile. So why can't we live in prosperity? Because the owners of power are creating arbitrary rich groups at our expense by separating us. But no loot. This is up to here. We will join hands and you will see that a brand new country will be born. Just as our ancestors did a century ago. You will see; something will change, everything will change," he said.

For this, we have to do whatever falls on us, day and night. Elections are scheduled to be held in May. If it is done on this date, it may be a problem for young people studying at the university to vote. We have to fulfill our responsibility to ensure that all our young people go to the ballot box.
