At Bağcılar Municipality Feyzullah Kıyıklık Palace for the Disabled, trainees made sensored hats to make life easier for the visually impaired.

Technology Class was opened within the scope of the “Accessible Science” project with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Technology at the Feyzullah Kıyıklık Palace for the Disabled, which was put into service by Bağcılar Municipality 9 years ago.

One of the most recent works of the 15-person class was the Sensor Hat. There is an electronic circuit on the top of the hat, which is designed by being influenced by the vehicle sensor. The visually impaired person wearing the hat with ultrasonic sensors realizes the danger ahead of him while walking at home or on the road. The sensor activates and gives an alarm, 1 meter away from signs, trees and similar dangerous objects. They used melody instead of alarm sound so that the disabled would not be disturbed.

Congratulating the disabled people who did the work, Mayor of Bağcılar Abdullah Özdemir said, “We are really happy that our trainees thought about something like this and put it into practice. Thanks to the hat, our visually impaired people will not encounter any difficulties.”

Ready-to-use hats were distributed to visually impaired trainees.
