China's New Year's Holiday Passenger Transport Shows Recovery

Passenger transport by rail, road, air and water recovered steadily over the three-day New Year's Eve holiday in China.

During the holiday period covering 31 December 2022-2 January 2023, the number of daily trips by rail reached 109 million 5 thousand, an increase of 80 percent compared to the daily average of last November.

The number of trips made by land and water increased to 61 million 436 thousand 800 for three days.

On the other hand, the number of families traveling by air during the holidays has also increased. During the three-day holiday, the number of trips made with civil airline companies reached 2 million 338 thousand.
