Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) continues its efforts to ensure traffic safety and order in the Capital.

While the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality continues its efforts to ensure that the capital city traffic is more regular and comfortable, it also implements the new decisions it has taken to ensure traffic safety.

With the decision taken by UKOME in line with the “European Agreement on the International Carriage of Dangerous Goods by Road” (ADR); Vehicles that have received a license to carry flammable, explosive and radioactive materials are prohibited from coming from outside the city and passing through the city between 06.00:22.00 and XNUMX:XNUMX.

Itinerary permit requirement

With the new regulation, drivers carrying dangerous goods will not be able to enter some streets and boulevards in Ankara. In line with the security measures, the routes that these vehicles cannot enter were determined as follows;

“Atatürk Boulevard, Cinnah Street, GMK Boulevard, Ziya Gökalp Street, Meşrutiyet Street, Mithat Paşa Street, Milli Müdafaa Street, Kumrular Street, Necatibey Street, between the General Staff Junction of Dikmen Street and Polisevi Junction, Cemal Gürsel Street, Çankırı Street, Çankaya Street , İnönü Boulevard, Medical Faculty Street, Olgunlar Street, Dr. Mediha Eldem Street.”

Drivers of vehicles carrying dangerous goods, who are obliged to enter the city center during daylight hours, will be required to obtain a "route permit document" issued by the ABB Transportation Department. Drivers using these vehicles will be allowed between 10.00:16.00 and XNUMX:XNUMX, when the traffic is not heavy, and the Safety Traffic Control Units will be informed about this.
