The General Directorate of Population and Citizenship Affairs of the Ministry of Interior announced that 2022 million 1 thousand 22 babies were born in 737 and that these babies were named Alparslan the most for boys and Zeynep for girls.
According to the data of the Ministry, 2022 million 1 thousand 22 babies were registered in the population registers in 737. 15 thousand 836 twins, 373 triplets, 7 quadruplets and 1 quintuplet were born.
Looking at the most preferred names, 8 thousand 366 of the baby boys were named Alparslan, 6 thousand 303 of them Yusuf, 5 thousand 72 of them Miraç. These names were followed by Göktuğ, Ömer Asaf, Eymen, Aras, Ömer, Mustafa and Ali Asaf, respectively.
Zeynep took the first place among the names given to baby girls.
Last year, the name Zeynep was given to 8 babies. In addition, 870 thousand 6 babies were named Defne and 854 thousand 6 babies were named Asel. Zümra, Elif, Asya, Azra, Nehir, Eylül and Ecrin followed the names of Zeynep, Defne and Asel in baby girls, respectively.
In 2022, some names were given to only one baby. Among them, Azra Akel, Elif Evin, Irmak Dila, Kerem Akil, Dilara Hayat, Eylül Feza, Oğuz Umut, Tuna Mete and Kağan Celal drew attention.
