While the price of 1 cubic meter of CNG (compressed natural gas) used in EGO General Directorate buses was 2019 TL in April 1,67, it has increased to 20.77 TL today. The cost has increased by more than 1000 percent.
The total expense of the EGO General Directorate in November 2022 is 382 million TL. Total ticket revenue is 120 million TL. The monthly loss is 262 million TL.
NATURAL GAS USED IN CNG IS 28 PER THOUSAND OF NATURAL GAS USED IN ALL TURKEY
CNG bus fleet has been established in Ankara Metropolitan Municipality due to its low fuel cost and environmental friendliness. 1863 percent of 84 buses serving in EGO are CNG powered.
This issue concerns ONLY Ankara Metropolitan Municipality in terms of fuel option in the bus fleet.
Currently, full ticket is 6.5 TL, student ticket is 3.5 TL and student subscription is 90 TL per month. In these circumstances, we regret to state that 9.5 TL for the full ticket, 4.75 TL for the student ticket, and 140 TL per month for the student subscription will be put on the agenda at the first UKOME meeting.
In this process, a meeting will be held with BOTAŞ to make a new tax regulation in favor of our citizens in the price of CNG used in public transportation. If this arrangement is not made, it will be necessary to increase ticket prices again. Otherwise, it does not seem possible for EGO to continue its activities.
