The highway investments, the construction of which was completed in Muğla, was put into service on Saturday, January 14 with the public opening ceremony attended by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan. Speaking at the ceremony attended by Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu and General Director of Highways Abdulkadir Uraloğlu, President Erdoğan stated that the completed 6 km section of Marmaris-Datça Road, Muğla-Kale Road and Sarıçay Historical Bridge were put into service after restoration. Thanks to all those who contributed to the works.

Announcing that the length of the divided road in Muğla has been increased from 90 kilometers to 457 kilometers, the President made the opening of the projects by connecting with General Manager Abdulkadir Uraloğlu via teleconference after his speech.

The 49-kilometer-long Marmaris – Datça Road was built in the standard of a single road with a bituminous hot mix coating. While the physical and geometric standards of the road were raised with the project, the platform width, which is currently 7-8 meters, was increased to 10 meters. Driving comfort and traffic safety have been increased by making the road pavement serving with a surface coated bituminous hot mixture coating.

With the project, which reduces the travel time on the road from 50 minutes to 40 minutes, a total of 42 million TL will be saved annually, 25,7 million TL from time and 67,7 million TL from fuel oil, and carbon emissions will be reduced by 3.333 tons.

The restoration of the Historical Sarıçay Bridge, located on the old Söke-Milas Road, one of the important touristic routes of Muğla, has been completed and has been put into use to serve pedestrian traffic. The bridge, which was built in the Roman period with a length of 89 meters, an average width of 6 meters and 11 spans, is among the historical and touristic values ​​of Muğla. The arches, which lost their stability with the restoration works, were repaired and repaired, and the bridge was restored to its original structure.
