Retirees and civil servants were eagerly awaiting the inflation figures to be announced today. As it is known, 6-month inflation figures are of critical importance in determining the salaries of civil servants, SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees. According to the inflation data announced by TURKSTAT, inflation in December was 1,18 percent monthly and 64,27 percent annually.

Immediately after the December inflation data were announced, the 6-month increase rate for civil servants and civil servant retirees, as well as SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees, became clear.

In this context; The increase rate that SGK and Bağ-Kur retirees will receive due to the inflation difference has been announced as 15,38 percent. Civil servants and retired civil servants, on the other hand, will receive a 7 percent raise, along with an 8 percent collective bargaining increase in addition to the 16,40 percent inflation difference. There is no welfare share in these hike rates yet.

ADDITIONAL HIRE TO PENSION HAS BEEN ANNOUNCED

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan made a statement about the pension hike of SSK and Bağ-Kur, which came as 15,39 percent. President Erdoğan announced that the rate of pension increase has been increased to 25 percent.

MINIMUM WAGE EXCEEDED EXPECTATIONS

Following President Erdogan's instructions, the first step was taken to raise the minimum wage. The lowest net minimum wage to be applied in 2023 was determined as 54,7 TL gross 2022 TL, an increase of 100 percent compared to July and 8.506 percent compared to January 10.008, exceeding the expectations.

The fact that the minimum wage was set far above the expectations and the inflation figures changed the calculations for the SSK and Bağ-Kur pension increase. After President Erdogan gave the instruction to "Increase purchasing power", the government, under the leadership of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, made social welfare arrangements that will increase the income of millions within the framework of civil servants and pensioners.

With the announcement of December inflation figures, the 6-month hike rate was finalized for SSK and Bağ-Kur members. Following these figures, the Ministry of Labor submitted its work for social welfare increases to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's approval, and the pension hike increased to 25 percent with the additional hike.
