A 7 percent discount will also be applied in the first stages of Agricultural and Animal Irrigation Subscribers, Martyr-Veteran Subscribers and Disabled Subscribers associated with housing tariffs. Thus, 2 million subscribers will benefit from the discount.
The extraordinary general assembly meeting of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality İZSU General Directorate in January 2023 was held in the assembly hall located in Kulturpark Fair Area, Hall 4, under the administration of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Deputy Mayor Mustafa Özuslu. In the session, the “Water and Waste Water” tariffs determined by the Board of Directors of the General Directorate of İZSU and to be implemented as of February 1, 2023 were discussed.
After the 50 percent and 75 percent discounted tariffs applied in villages and towns that had the neighborhood status were abolished in line with the reports of the Court of Accounts, Izmir Metropolitan Municipality took action. The General Directorate of İZSU decided to reduce the discounted water tariffs in the settlements, which fall under the scope of the laws numbered 6360 and 5216, due to the legal regulation, and the discount to be reflected to the subscribers throughout the city.
In this context, the İZSU General Directorate will reflect the income increase that will occur with the new regulation as a discount to the subscribers throughout the city. A 7% discount will be made in the first-stage water tariffs of residential and non-residential subscribers. In order to continue agricultural production support, within the framework of the vision of “Another Agriculture is Possible”, the 75 percent discount application will be continued for Agriculture and Livestock Irrigation Subscribers in İzmir and for subscribers in the agriculture and livestock tariff.
