Gendarmerie Search and Rescue (JAK) team in Palandöken in Erzurum, one of Turkey's most important ski resorts, continues rescue exercises with its ski and motorized teams.

Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams work on a 24-hour basis at the Palandöken Ski Center, which attracts the attention of ski enthusiasts from Turkey and abroad during the winter months.

The JAK personnel at the police station at the 2 altitude of the Palandöken Ski Center come to the aid of holidaymakers who are lost, stranded or injured while skiing due to adverse weather conditions.

JAK teams patrol with their ski and motorized teams on the 70-altitude Ejder peak of Palandöken, which has a total runway length of 3 kilometers, and other tracks.

They Don't Disrupt Training Drills

JAK teams, who keep watch at the points where the chairlift-gondolas are located in the ski center and reassure local and foreign tourists with the measures they take, do not interrupt their training with exercises in different scenarios.

According to the scenario, the teams took action to rescue a skier who was stuck on the chairlift in the area where the north and south slopes intersect at an altitude of 2.

The teams, who were transferred to the region with snowmobiles, first took precautions to prevent other skiers from hitting them by pulling lanes to the steep slopes and cliff edges of the area where the chairlift is located.

The teams climbed to the 46-meter-high chairlift, to which they tied a rope, and safely lowered the tourist they calmed down by talking.

The teams, which took the tourist to the stretcher, grabbed the ropes attached to the stretcher and slid with their ski gear, transported the tourist to the ambulance and provided the first aid to the skier quickly.

The exercise, which the teams successfully completed in the freezing cold, did not look for the truth.
