IGC Internet News Sites Commission Meeting was led by IGC President Dilek Gappi. At the meeting, information was given about the new regulation of the Press Advertisement Agency, which is expected to come into force in April, and the process was evaluated in terms of internet news sites.
The new regulation, which was accepted at the Extraordinary General Assembly of the Press Advertisement Agency held on January 13 and will enter into force as of April 1, was discussed by the IGC Internet News Sites commission.
At the meeting held under the chairmanship of İzmir Journalists Association President Dilek Gappi, the New Press Advertisement Institution Regulation was discussed and it was requested to facilitate the process.
In the meeting, firstly, information was given on what to do in accordance with the Press Law No. 18, which was published in the Official Gazette on Tuesday, October 2022, 5187.

Dilek Gappi, who gave information about the changes in the Regulation on the Press Advertisement Institution, which was presented as a draft, talked about the obligations that come with the new regulation.
Gappi said: “With the regulation coming into effect in April, it is on the agenda for our internet news sites to benefit from the new pool. This new situation has its drawbacks as well as its benefits. We must evaluate the subject of 'Official Announcements and Advertisements to be Published on Internet News Sites' in detail and convey our expectations at the General Assembly of our Press Advertisement Agency. ”
We stand by our internet news sites
Gappi said, “We will continue to negotiate with the printed and internet news media in Izmir, which has to experience a digital change before the law comes into effect. As IGC, we have always stood by you and will continue to be.”
At the meeting, it was also warned that all internet news sites should apply to the Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor by obtaining a UETS number within the scope of the new articles added to the Press Law.
IGC Digital Media Consultant Levent Özen emphasized that the transformation process should be followed closely in order to adapt our local news sites to the new media and facilitate their digital transition. Özen gave technical information about the Press Announcement Law, which will come into force on April 1, 2023.
Comprehensive meeting in February
In the first stage of the meeting;
- Providing financial support for the workers who will work in the local media,
- Those who work in print and internet media can work in both media,
- Solution proposals such as gradual transitions were emphasized.
At the IGC Internet News Sites Commission meeting, it was decided to hold another comprehensive evaluation meeting in February.
