In the greenhouse area created by Rize Municipality, 300 plant species are produced and used by the municipality in landscaping works at different points of the city.
While giving importance to the urban transformation, infrastructure and social activities of the city, Rize Municipality continues to increase its production activities. 14 plant species are produced in 650 greenhouses and open garden gardens with a total indoor area of 4 square meters in a 300-decare greenhouse area in Engindere district.
300 species of trees, fruit saplings, flowers, medicinal and aromatic plants are used in different parts of the city in the municipality's landscape works. Rize Municipality both uses the plants it produces in its own works and also offers the opportunity to sell to citizens who want it.
In the area where 30 kinds of native and ancestral seeds are produced, these species are grown and passed on to future generations.
Scientific studies are being carried out together with Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University on the development of plants and the enrichment of soil in terms of organic minarets and the efficiency of wood vinegar and carbon produced from tea waste in the Rize Municipality Charcoal and Energy Production Facility.
It is stated that all 300 plant species in the greenhouse area, where female personnel carry out maintenance, pruning, planting and fertilization works, are open for sale and the demands of the citizens are met in this regard. At the same time, most of the plant species used in municipal works are produced in the greenhouse area and contribute significantly to the municipal budget.
