The Zhongwei-Lanzhou section of the Yin-Lan high-speed railway connecting Yinchuan city in Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region with Lanzhou city in Gansu province will be opened to traffic today. Thus, the Yinchuan-Lanzhou high-speed railway with a length of 431 kilometers was officially put into service.

The speed of 250 kilometers per hour can be reached on the high-speed railway, which stretches from Yinchuang city in the north to Lanzhou city in the south.

The Yinchuang-Zhongwei part of the Yin-Lan high-speed railway, the construction of which began in 2015 and was carried out in two phases, was put into service on December 29, 2019.

The trial run of the 219-kilometer-long Zhongwei-Lanzhou piece, which will enter service today, began on December 15.

After the Yin-Lan high-speed railway was officially put into service, the train journey time from Yinchuang to Lanzhou was reduced from 8 hours to 3 hours.

The full commissioning of the Yin-Lan high-speed railway is expected to play an important role in improving the railway network in the western regions of the country and motivating economic and social developments in the region.
