Yıldız Holding hosted the Private Sector Awareness event of Horizon Europe Program, one of the important civil R&D and innovation programs run by the European Union (EU). At the meeting, Horizon Europe Program experts and TUBITAK officials informed the managers of Yıldız Holding and its companies about the project.

An awareness meeting was held regarding the "Horizon Europe" program carried out by the European Union under the umbrella of Yıldız Holding, which continues its activities for a sustainable future with its R&D and innovation investments. The event hosted by Yıldız Holding Vice Chairman and CEO Mehmet Tütüncü was attended by European Union Presidency Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation General Manager Bülent Özcan, Horizon Europe Program experts and TÜBİTAK officials. Horizon Europe, which aims to provide grants and technical support to projects to be carried out in the fields of research and innovation in the 2021-2027 period; supports innovative studies under topics such as climate change adaptation, soil health and food, and digital technologies.

Tütüncü: “We are working for a sustainable future with our R&D and innovation investments”

Stating that the Horizon Europe Program is a program open to cooperation opportunities in different fields for Yıldız Holding, Mehmet Tütüncü said: “We are working to establish a more flexible, more technology-oriented and more visionary structure in Yıldız Holding and our companies. We aim to prepare our business lines for the future by constantly investing in innovation and R&D, to offer sustainable alternatives to our customers with purpose-oriented business models and products, to become stronger in competition and to create a positive environmental and social impact while doing so. With this perspective, I believe that the Horizon Europe Program is a valuable initiative, that our Holding and our companies can make significant contributions to this program, and that they will take steps towards the future with highly successful projects in synergy.”

Özcan: “We invite the private sector, SMEs and industrial organizations to take advantage of all the opportunities offered by the Horizon Europe Programme”

Bülent Özcan, General Manager of Financial Cooperation and Project Implementation of the European Union Presidency, who made a speech at the event, said: “The Horizon Europe Program, which will be implemented by the European Union in the 2021-2027 period, is the world's largest civilian R&D program with a budget of 95,5 billion euros. As Turkey, we are part of this program. We signed our participation agreement in October 2021. It is important that the private sector is involved in the process and develops projects in order for our country to benefit from this program to the maximum. At this meeting hosted by Yıldız Holding, we had the opportunity to explain the Horizon Europe Program to both the companies within the Holding and the organizations working with the Holding, together with the representatives of TÜBİTAK, who coordinates the program in Turkey. We talked about project opportunities in the coming period, such as sustainability, green transformation, digitalization, food, entrepreneurship, transformation of the manufacturing industry, energy efficiency and renewable energy. I hope that our private sector will benefit more from these opportunities in the coming period.”
