Wooden Bridge Competition Held at GAÜN

The 'Wooden Bridge Competition' traditionally organized by Gaziantep University (GAÜN) Civil Engineering Department Assoc. Dr. Nildem Tayşi and Assoc. Dr. It was done under the coordination of Mehmet Tolga Göğüş.

Participants participated in the competition with model bridges that they designed and produced as a team. prof. Dr. Mustafa Özakça, Assoc. Dr. Eren Gülsan and Member of the Board of Directors of the Chamber of Civil Engineers (IMO) Metin Girişken served as jury members.

In the competition, which was open to all students studying at Gaziantep University Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture, as a multidisciplinary teamwork, teams consisted of at least three and at most five people and at least one architecture student joined the teams. In the competition consisting of two stages; The projects received in the first stage were subjected to preliminary examination according to the criteria determined by the members of the jury. The deficiencies observed in the preliminary examination were discussed with the students and corrected. Bridges were evaluated as static and aesthetic in the competition area in the second stage.
