“Meeting of Metropolitan Municipalities City Theaters” organized by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality City Theaters (İzBBŞT) has ended. Theater lovers from Izmir showed great interest in the event, which was held on 11-29 December with the theme of "living local writers". 12 plays staged by the city theaters of Izmir, Istanbul, Adana, Ankara, Antalya, Bursa, Denizli, Eskişehir, Kocaeli and Mersin metropolitan municipalities were followed by 4 theatergoers. Tickets for the screenings at İzBBŞT İsmet İnönü Stage and İzmir Sanat were sold out days ago.
“We will move towards joint works”
Speaking about the Metropolitan Municipalities City Theaters Meeting, İzBBŞT Founding General Art Director Yücel Erten stated that this step taken to improve relations between theater institutions is valuable and said, “İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Tunç SoyerWe had a very pleasant 'meeting' with the vision of turning İzmir into a center of culture and art and the support that transforms this understanding into action. A colorful spectrum was formed in which sister art institutions in 10 different cities displayed their products. Our stage was illuminated with different interpretations, poses, looks, textures, tones and colors for three weeks. It is valuable for us to meet our friends at Metropolitan Municipalities City Theaters, exchange views and develop our relations. We hope to gradually move towards joint studies that will contribute to the fields of art in our country.”
